A girl and a boy were on a motorcycle, speeding through the night. They loved each other a lot..
Girl: "slow down a little.. I'm scared.."
Boy: "No, it's so fun.."
Girl: "please..it's so scary.."
Boy: "Then say that you love me.."
Girl: "Fine..I love you..can you slow down now?"
Boy: "Give me a big hug.."
The girl gave him a big hug.
Girl: "Now can you slow down?"
Boy: "Can you take off my helmet and put it on? It's uncomfortable and its bothering me while i drive."
The next day, there was a story in the newspaper. A motorcycle had crashed into a building because its brakes were broken. There were two people on the motorcycle, of which one died, and the other had survived...... The guy knew that the brakes were broken. He didn't want to let the girl know, because he knew that the girl would have gotten scared. Instead, he was told the last time that she loved him, got a hug from her, put his helmet on her so that she can live, and died himself...

Optimism of College Graduates
For many years, scientists were puzzled by the existence of this unshakable optimism. It did not make sense. How is it that people remain optimistic even though information challenging those predictions is abundantly available? It turns out it is not commencement speeches or self-help books that make us hopeful. Recently, with the development of non-invasive brain imaging techniques, we have gathered evidence that suggests our brains are hard-wired to be unrealistically optimistic. When we learn what the future may hold, our neurons efficiently encode unexpectedly good information, but fail to incorporate information that is unexpectedly bad.
That’s why when we listen to Oprah Winfrey’s rags-to-riches story our brain takes note and concludes that we too may become immensely rich and powerful one day; but when told the likelihood of being unemployed is almost 1 in 10 or of suffering from cancer is over 1 in 3 we take no notice.
Such optimistic illusions, with all of their advantages, unfortunately come at a price. Underestimating risk makes us less likely to practice safe sex, save for retirement, buy insurance or undergo medical screenings.
In some cases relatively minor biases can even lead to global disaster. Take the financial crisis of 2008. Each investor, homeowner, banker or economic regulator expected slightly better profits than were realistically warranted. On its own, each bias would not have created huge losses. Yet when combined in one market they produced a giant financial bubble that did just that.

PARADOX
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings,but shorter tempers;
Wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints;
We spend more, but have less,
We buy more but enjoy less.
We have bigger houses and smaller families;
More conveniences, but less time;
We have more degrees, but less sense;
More knowledge, but less judgement;
More experts, but less solutions;
More medicines, but less wellness.
We have multiplied possessions, but reduced out values.
We talk too much, love seldom, and hate too often.
We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life;
We’ve added years to life, not life to years.
We’ve been all the way to the moon and back,
But have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbour.
We’ve conquered outer space, but not inner space;
We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul;
We’ve split the atom, but not our prejudice.
We have higher incomes, but lower morals;
We’ve become long on quantity, but short on quality.
There are times of tall men, and short character;
Steep profits and shallow relationships.
These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare;
More leisure, but less fun;
More kinds of food, but less nutrition.
These are the days of two incomes, but more divorce;
Of fancier houses, but broken homes.
It is a time where there is much in the show window and nothing in the stockroom.
This is the time when technology brings this passage to you,
And have the choice to share unto others,
What you have learned up to this day.

Count on the Memories not on the Days.
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!
When the door of happiness closes, another opens. But often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
Dream what you want to dream; Go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Meeting Lauren
I don’t know, if when is the first time i knew about her, but I can remember that it was my mother who was the one who told me about the name “Ava”. The famous girl who always visits Sister Jo’s supervised chapel. Hmm.
At first, I was not that interested to know or meet her for I don’t know her. Hahaha. But sister Jo keeps on telling me things about her. She had told me a lot of Ava. That’s why even though we haven’t met yet. It seems to me like I know her a lot already.
What triggered me to have the interest to know her more is that, when sister Jo told me that she is a family centered person which means she does set her family as her top priority above all always. That’s why I joined my mother last December 2010 at the chapel for the chapel’s Christmas party for the kids out there.
When we arrived there at the chapel, the people there welcomed as so much. I was a shy for the topic was always about me when we arrived there. And sister Jo was keep on telling stories about me and boast so many things about me. And it seems like all of the tita’s there knows me a lot already.
While I was playing around with the kids there, I was looking for the famous “Ava” even the kids were so excited for her to arrive but it seems she’ll be late because of her work. So, she arrived just after the party ended.
Finally, I’ve seen the famous “Ava” in person. I am not sure if she was wearing violet colored tops. But what I noticed is that she has a cake in her hand. I was not talking to her at all when she arrived. I was shy. I think this is my illness already. Whenever there is a gorgeous lady around, I becomes speechless. And try to ignore her presence.
So, time pass by, and little by little the tita’s went home. Until I, sister Jo, my mother and Ava was all left in the chapel. (by the way, sister jo lives in the chapel) I and Ava lighted our candles for some predictions from sister. My candle melted down so slow. It took more than two hours I think. But, still we waited for it. After that, we were asked to open the bible without looking at it, while praying for the right word for us. Then, sister explained everything to us. Later, we went home already for it was too late.
While walking, I tried to talk to her as calm as I could. I think we talked a lot of things that night while walking. But, I can’t remember the details anymore. What I can remember is about the clouds in the sky that night. The reasons why there were few stars that night(almost nothing at all).
Luckily, there was a van heading to our place. So, we ride in. And i didn’t talk to her again. We separated ways that night with goodbyes and take cares.
