SAN ANTONIO TOUR

To start with, San Antonio is a place part of Chile. I have been in this place for two time already I think, but it was just this time that I was able to go ashore for unwind. I know there were still a lot of things to see on this place but because of the limited time we were not able to maximize the whole of it. So, I went shore together with one AB and one painter. But when we were riding the bus we were with the Captain. When we reached the city we parted ways with the captain. And so our journey at San Antonio, Chile starts.

This is a far view of series of houses at San Antonio. They got a very nice view facing the Pacific Ocean. But it seems like reachable by tsunami in case there would be and hope none.

As we go near the designated berth for us, we would see piles of different shaped stones making the tip of the terminal ground. These piles of stones serves as a resting place for seals and different huge birds.

My first activity for that day was to help out the Captain to test drive the MOB boat on the sea. Honestly, I didn't feel nervous even though it was my first time for I was so excited for this experience. He was the first to steer the boat away from the ship wherein we almost hit the hull. And after sometime, he let me steer it circling around the vicinity. I even was about an inch away with a seal happily swimming. Good thing I was no able to hit it hard for I might be sued by the local authorities there. It was a lot of fun.

After about 45 minutes of steering the boat around the area, Captain asked me to steer the boat near the ship without hitting the hull and get near to the slings that would lift us with the boat up back to the ship. It was very hard to steer for the swell at San Antonio was so strong. Strong enough to capsized our boat. That's why I have to steer back and forth towards the ship because most of the time the swell would push our boat near to the hull. And for us to avoid it we have to steer away again until we could fit the sling back to our boat. Of course, in the end it was a success and was really fun experience for me.
Introducing Able Bodied Seaman Felipe and Painter Joven. I was with them when we went ashore. And I am very grateful for this guys for making that short time tour so much fun andd unforgettable. At the back were fishing boats.
Of course, I must also have a photo with at least one of them and here it goes. Smile! I brought jacket because it was so cold. But I don't know why, I feel so hot that day. As you would observe both Felipe and Joven were wearing their jackets all the time.

That's the mall from far view facing the Pacific Ocean. It's very relaxing to be in that place just sitting and watch the sun sets. But of course, we cannot wait for the sun to set. We have to go back to the ship before it sets or else were screwed.

Felipe and Joven treat me two donuts and medium size of coke. I am not a soft drink lover but it was part of the order so must have it. But I was not able to finish drinking all of it. Of course, I chose my favorite flavor which choco honey dip and for a change I forgot the name of the other donut.

And yes, there's a Dunkin' Donuts at San Antonio. And I really love it.

I always smile whenever I see this photograph. Because I really looked like a seafarer with this outfit on. By the way since it's christmas seasons there was a huge christmas tree and some nut crackers.

Of course, I observed stalls around having a Merry Christmas greeting on the glass of there boutique. I wish I'll be home for Christmas.

"Belen" as we call it in the Philippines. I love this Belen for it's life size. and complete with all the cast in that scene. I love you Jesus.

I took a photo of the seaside. Just for photograph purposes.

Oh ow. the sun is setting and we have to get back to the ship.

 Last photo souvenir.
You would observe that there's a lot of dogs around the place. And some of them are even with breed. But this dog catch my attention. He was toying with us. lovely sweet dog. He even poses to the camera.

And again, we farmed crabs. That was so many. And everybody's tummy was really filled.

That was the whole of my simple tour around San Antonio, Chile. A very satisfying one.

THE SECRET

I just finished watching the clip – “The Secret” and I was just so amazed to everything was said on that one. The secret = The Law of Attraction. Well, I did not focus on how they were able to present the knowledge but I focused more on what was being told, what was being taught, what was being given and what was they doing to make people realize what the big thing was missing in their lives. This clip (if taken seriously) would really help a people live on a different way he/she is living at the moment. If the case is that they live differently on what was said. But in the case like me that I somehow lived this kind of life even when I was still young would help me improve this knowledge more. Now, let me tell you about how I lived this kind of life when I was young.

The most amazing thing that I know had happen was, when I was in Grade 5, I remembered always visualizing myself wearing the uniform of a men on service, wearing this uniform across the streets upon going back home every now and then. It was just now that I realized that this dream of mine years ago had come true. How? I am currently studying on an Academy which has a semi-regimented training and has the same training module with those on service. What do I mean? Well, we all know that military has the best uniforms of all time. The way they look when wearing those cloth really makes them look so disciplined and smart. And now, I am wearing the same uniforms on a daily basis at school. I couldn’t believe it when I realized that, “what the...my dream when I was in grade school had just come true”. And now I am about to graduate not just being a seafarer but also an enlisted ranking officer of the Navy. That was really fascinating for me.

Now, going back to the law of attraction, it says there “when you visualize you materialized”. This law keeps on telling us in different forms of phrases and paragraphs on what we are thinking are what really happen. Maybe, that was the reason why my dream of wearing those smart uniforms had came true. You see, if we put life to what we are thinking the easier it is for us to strive more to achieve it. There’s no magic that would happen that in an instant pooof here goes your dream. But what happens is that, as we think deeper unto this thought and give life unto it the more likely this thought could happen. Well, generally saying you must be an optimistic kind of person. Why? The process would be unsuccessful if you’re not one. You see, an optimistic type of person sees everything around in the brighter side, on the positive side or on the good side whilst, a pessimistic type of person would see everything around in the negative side, darker side or on the bad side.

Now, how does it happen? How does this thought of mine become reality. The main reason of everything is you and nothing else. As we choose this thought we focus on it. And as we focus on it we do things that most likely direct us through to this thought to become reality. Okay, I’ll give an example, this experience of mine happened when I was in high school. When I started my as a freshman I always think of having a medal when I graduate high school. I really don’t care if what kind of award it will be but I want one. I finished freshman year without medal but that thought of mine did not stop there I continued to believe as years pass by. Until I reached senior year, to my amazement I was included on the list of those students who will receive medals. The ending, I graduated as an honourable student. Of course, everyone was shocked even me myself. From freshman to junior year I was not included on top students on the batch but suddenly just before I graduated I was included. Was there a magic? None, I must admit I cheated a lot of times during examinations but this thought of mine made me study more and be attentive to classes every time. Honestly, being a top student was not my dream; remember my dream was a medal on any form of award. I was expecting more on my medal of becoming the cadet of the year since I was the highest ranking officer on our C.A.T that time. But to my amazement, I was not given the medal for cadet of the year, but instead a higher degree of award and it was to be part of the honourable students.

You see, having a certain goal in life is the first step you have to do to achieve success. Let us always remember that what we think we are is what we become. So if we think we are hopeless on everything, then we become hopeless. If we think I am hopeful we become one. See, it is us who decides of what our life would be. It is not others who would decide for us. It is always us. Just always believe in yourself and be focus on what you want. And for sure you’ll have it.

ANGRY BIRDS RIO

Recently I have been addicted once again with this game. Angry Birds. But this time I played the Rio version. I finished it already from three different levels. Because there were only three levels available at the moment. The one posted above is level three. And that was the last stage that I was able to play.

My next plan is to play the seasons version. I haven't started playing it yet. Maybe next week.

I really enjoyed playing this game. Because you do not only hit those enemies by trial and error but you also consider some factors. Like for me these are some of the factors I consider before throwing away by available birds:

-the projection i would made by choosing the right angle.
-are the items around breakable by my bird to be used.
-how many birds do I have?
-how far are the enemies?
-can I do it in one shot?
-hit special items around.
-I must have three stars

Maybe there are still some I was not able to include. But those are some of what I remembered. I would make most of my time playing this game rather than do my assignments. But after it I feel satisfied upon accomplishing three stars and High score.

Enjoy playing.

THREE MONTHS

Can you imagine a relationship spent three months without seeing each other personally? Just greeting each other (when there is a chance) through e-mails or texts. For me, I cannot only imagine because I am in that situation.

When I chose seafaring as my career I had already prepared myself to be engage in this kind of relationship all the time. The only problem I could have would be, how to find someone who could stay on that kind of relationship. Who could stand on a long distance relationship. Whom I could trust whenever I am not around. Whom I know would not cheat on me.

And I was very thakful to our creator for bringing up my girlfriend to me. She was the solution with that problem. You know why? We celebrated our third month relationship without seeing each other in person. That was really fascinating. Because, it is not normal for woman nowadays to be able to stand on that kind of relationship. And she, she made it.

The only secret with all of this is to maintain the Love and trust to each other. I give my full trust to her. And as time pass by my love for her grows stronger and deeper. This distance that we had made our relationship stronger to hold on. Of course, some quarrel is unavoidable. But we were able to solve all of that immediately.

All I could say is that, I love her with all my heart. Having three months in this kind of relationship is quite a big success already. And I thank God for guiding our relationship all the time. Truly with God in the centre of our relationship it would lasts.

LIRQUEN TOUR

First of all, Lirquen is a province of Chile. It is not a very big town. But, my experience there was so much fun. You would feel very welcomed by people living near the port.

In this photo you would see me with two Chilians. They gave me a booklet explaining what does the bible really says. And we had some talk about praising God and the like.

Along the street we saw a lot of vendors of crabs. And there goes along a lot of restaurants as well. And this lady has the biggest crabs on sale that's why we choose to buy some to her. One crab cost $1. Enough already to fill our tummy. So I had two of it.

So, off inside to their humble restaurant, we ate our crabs. We were provided with a heavy steel knife to be used to break the hard (i don't know if it's shell or skin).

Of course, eating crabs would be more fun together with beer. The big bottle you see on the table is their beer called Cristal. It taste like the usual beer of course, just the name and price differ. It cost $6 one bottle.

This is the the poor crab. Totally murdered.

By the way the name of the restaurant was La Navie. That's the view upon entering the restaurant.
After eating, we met this guy Alejandro, he brought us to the nearby beach. Of course, what else would be the first thing that I would do, picture taking. First pose(actually I was shy by that time there was a lot of people there and what we were wearing was not appropriate)
 Pose again beside a bangka.

Pose again on the rocks. It was so much fun. Actually those people who were there were staring at us because they know we are foreigners. They were smiling of what we were doing. I haven't got the chance to have a photograph with them.

The seaside. It was quite a long time since the last time I visited a beach. And to fit my attire for the place, I took off my shirt remove my shoes and rolled up my pants. And the result? Instant summer beach wear.

That's the beach. It was not so good but enough for a photo souvenir. It took me a lot of courage to do this shot. There were a lot of chillians on my left side there. And they were staring at us. But I succeed.

Felipe, Alejandro and me. The photographer was Kuya Ramel. It was a total experience. The whole tour last about 3 hours only and it was all fun. I wanna go back again next time.

THAT I HATE

We all know that the recent fight of Manny Pacquiao had just ended again with a controversial decision from the judges. And of course, what do we expect after this? There will be a lot of columns again on different tabloids and papers about this stuff. For the following weeks this story will be on top of the headlines.

But don't think those stuffs is what annoys me. What annoys me are those people who continue on commenting a lot of stuff on different social sites. They post all of their own opinions. What the hell? I hate it so much. You know why? Simply because, do they know how the game is scored? do they know well on that certain sport? Duh? I really hate it so much.

It irritates me whenever i read so useless commentaries and posts on my facebook news feed. Very redundant and annoying. On google+, the same is trending. And when I check my twitter, same thing goes, OMG, does these people really need to do this to be noticed by everyone? I know this topic is so much trending on the web right and in different sites but could these people just do certain comments if they know anything or something about the event very well.

But of course in the end, there's nothing I can do. It's the freedom of every individual to express what they feel. But my point here is, posts as much as you can if you are well knowledgeable about that thing. You would just look like a fool on doing such without enough knowledge about it.

ALGECIRAS TOUR

First Photo in the city

Yes, I've been to Algeciras, Spain lately. Yet, it was a short time stay there. So our tour around this city was also limited. But I've enjoyed a lot. It was so fun. The Sun was so high yet I cannot feel it's heat because of the cold breeze of the wind. It near to winter time that's why.

Ok, this is the mall that we visited. I would say this is a very expensive mall. When we entered the department store it was TOMMY HILFIGER that I saw first. Then, followed by Lacoste and so on. Everything sold there was so nice. Yet everything cost so nice as well. I can't afford anything at that time. I loved those shirts and polo, pants, watch and shoes. Someday I'll be able to afford some of it(hopefully).

Inside the park was a nice fountain, unfortunately it was not functioning by the time we were there. But there were a lot of pigeons scattered around. I so love the way that tree on the right side inclined towards the fountain. It was like engineered to be like that.

The Cadet and Electrician with shades on. And take note we both wore red by that time.

A watermill inside the park. It was not being used. I think it's for the purpose of design in the park.

Do you know what the writings mean? Me neither.

A smooth road going back to the terminal filled with fun experience once more.

A stolen shot taken by my indian friend Prabhu.

That's my lovely ship on the background-Olga Maersk.

Photo with kuya Felipe and Kuya Gregorio. They were the gangway watch by that time.

Paniters, repairman and Ordinary Seaman along with me. Fun guys to be with.

And off we go to rotterdam. By the way this phot was taken during sunset at Algeciras Terminal while we were leaving the berth.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

This Blog is entitled to my parents Carmelita G. Sun and Elias H. Sun.

I am their eldest son among the three siblings that they have. And I have been a witness of all the good and bad things that happened to their life as a couple.

Being the eldest I am sometimes the one my mother would be talking to about some problems she have that she can't share to my father. Since, my father is a seafarer he is always away from home. So I stand to be the father at home at times. It was not so hard since my brother and sister were so obedient and we all love each other.

Anyways, our family has faced a lot of trials and challenges in life already. I remember when I was a kid that my mother and father would fight because of jealous. I would not make it in any detail but they fight because of a flirty girl. My mother did something wrong that made me shocked. What I can do that time was to hug her of what happened. Though I was so young at that time, i think was in Grade 4, I understand what was happening. But you know what the best part after it. Ma and Pa, would accept each sides of explanation and at the end peace reigns at home.

What can I say about my parents relationship is that, they maintain and improve their love for each other as time pass by. Their relationship is really binded with God. That's why they stand firm amidst great challenges in life.

For the 20 years of their relationship as a married couple and always away from each other I have never seen that this distance between them made their relationship slacked from it's tight bond. I am so glad about that. Someday I'll be part of this kind of married relationship as well. And I am hoping it would be this good.

I would to thank God for giving me parents which really set as an example to us. I love them so much. Thank you Lord for making them strong for fighting for our family. I am excited for them to reach 25th year for it will SILVER WEDDING. And I want it be celebrated. I want my mothers dream wedding be happened. So please support me Lord.

Once again, I love you ma, and pa. Thank you so much for being there always for us.

93. Nasanay ka na sa checklist.
98. Madalas ka ding puyat lalo na pag may “maniobra” o securing on deck.

SINK MODE

When I arrived here on board my ship M/S OLGA MAERSK my sink was already damaged. Not totally damaged but it has a cracked. So, one day Captain Birger made an inspection for each cabin to check for any damage as part of preparation for the ships superintendent's arrival.

So what my capatain saw was a crack in my sink, missing hinges on my cabinet, damage stopper for doors and damage blinds. But still my cabin looks good with these things considered as a big damage.

So today, they started fixing my sink. Since the new sink arrived when we were in Rotterdam. It was the dayman Kuya Greg who started fixing my sink.

My old sink with a crack on its right side

Very cute crack on my sink

Here's my new sink, almost the same with the old one yet does not have any cracks

So you've seen my sink. I want to share who made part on this very day of my sink renovation.
Chief Engineer Dan and Chief Officer Victor

I was so amazed to see these guys fixing my sink. I was just watching because they were quite shy of what was my sinks condition. They don't even wanted me to step in to help. How nice isn't it? By the way the chief officer is a Romanian. It was him who asssigned the dayman to fix my sink.

Chief Engineer Dan
There was some problem with the way of connecting the pipes on the water inlet. So the chief officer callled the Chief Engineer to check it. The dayman was just ensuring that we would not damage anything. So we called for help. And here's the Chief Engineer to the rescue. LOL By the way he's a Danish. A good man.

Kuya Gregory Ragsag
He's the man, the dayman. Hehehe. A very nice guy. There no sad time whenever you're with him. He always crack a joke to everyone. He started fixing the sink and also the one who finished it. See? a seafarer can also be a plumber after all.

I can't forget what kuya greg told me. "Sabi ni Chief mate, gawin ko na daw lahat ng sira sa cabin mo para happy ka daw" (Chiefmate said i should fix everything you cabin so you're happy) . Hahaha. this line made me laugh. am I that important? hahaha. but anyway everything ended with a successful job and thanks to everyone.

Of course, I thank both the chief engineer and officer. Of course more thanks to kuya greg.

Now, my sink looks good.
